He studied at Northwest Missouri State earning his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology & a Minor in Fine Arts. He went on to attend Central Baptist Theological Seminary of Kansas City, from which he earned a Master of Divinity degree. Pastor Matt was ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church in 2007.Pastor Matt has been in the pastoral ministry since 2000. He served as a lead Pastor in Rhode Island, Michigan and Nebraska.Pastor Matt and his wife Immy have been married since 2001. Immy is originally from India, and currently works as nurse in Lincoln. She loves having people over to their house, and visiting. Together they have three children, Ethan (13), Sam (11) and Thomas (8). Pastor Matt absolutely loves hanging out with his boys! He is also a true outdoorsman and enjoys nature, hikes, working on the yard, and camping as a family —This may not be Immy’s favorite family activity but she will lovingly tolerate it.In his spare time he enjoys reading westerns and traveling. This is a class where our junior high students (grades 6-8) can come together and learn not only the foundation of our faith but also how to challenge themselves and grow on their own. At the end of this 2-year journey, the students are given the opportunity to share their testimony with the church and are rewarded a VERY nice Bible. Covenant Cedars Bible Camp is a year-round facility nestled in the cedars of the beautiful Platte River Valley. It provides a wonderful place for groups desiring solitude and relaxation all the way to high energy activities with intense spiritual focus and growth. It is available for groups up to 350 and is a great place for small family reunions or other small group gatherings as well. The church provides scholarships to ensure that finances are not a roadblock for all kids who want to attend camp.
