The Evangelical Covenant Church

The Evangelical Covenant Church is a rapidly growing multiethnic denomination in the United States and Canada with ministries on five continents of the world. Founded in 1885 by Swedish immigrants, the ECC values the Bible as the word of God, the gift of God’s grace and ever-deepening spiritual life that comes through a faith with Jesus Christ, the importance of extending God’s love and compassion to a hurting world, and the strength that comes from unity within diversity.
The Evangelical Covenant Church is:

  • Evangelical, but not exclusive
  • Biblical, but not doctrinaire
  • Traditional, but not rigid
  • Congregational, but not independent

Alaska Partnership

The Midwest Conference of the ECC partners with a Covenant church in Mountain Village, Alaska.  Mountain Village is a remote bush village of about 800 citizens on the Yukon River. As a congregation we have hosted speakers and held fundraisers to provide financial assistance to the Alaskan church. We hope to send workers to serve this church and community in the future.

Community Garden

The Community Garden was established in 2009 by the CMJ Team. The garden provides fresh vegetables to those in need in Ceresco and surrounding communities. The work of planting, weeding, watering and harvesting is done by members of the congregation.

Youth

Covenant Cedars Bible Camp

Covenant Cedars Bible Camp is a year-round facility nestled in the cedars of the beautiful Platte River Valley. It provides a wonderful place for groups desiring solitude and relaxation all the way to high energy activities with intense spiritual focus and growth. It is available for groups up to 350 and is a great place for small family reunions or other small group gatherings as well.  Our church has sent hundreds of kids to Covenant Cedars over the years. Many come back with memories that will last a lifetime and some have made a committment to follow Christ.  Scholarships are available to ensure that finances are not a roadblock for kids who want to attend camp. For more information on Covenant Cedars Bible Camp visit www.cedars.org or talk to the Children and Youth Team Leader, Pam Randall.
